Functionality

It is a sunscreen with SPF 40 and PA+++, decent enough for everyday use. It dries matt, which means you can skip finishing powder. Plus, you can use it on your body too (You will probably finish the whole tub after 2-3times LOL)

Finish

ZA powder sunscreen dries completely matt. It mainly evens out skintone and does provide a little more coverage than most of the 'transparent, glossy' finish other sunscreens give. It still looks natural. I thought Neutrogena's one was matt until I tried this. Best thing is it stays the whole freaking day. No oily face at the end of the day, I kid you not. I wear this alone most of the time but it works well under makeup. My absolute favourite for Summer.

One thing to note that you've to work fast and spread evenly when it comes to this sunscreen. It will look patchy if you did not distribute well and it will stay that way lol.

Stars: ★★.5☆ (4.5/5)

Texture

White, opaque cream. It is quite easy to spread provided you don't apply too much at a go.

Smell

I really can't describe it. It smells really bad. Every time I apply this on I feel like I've slathered some chemical on my face. But thank god the smell goes away after a while.

(Too bad there isn't negative stars wtf)

Ingredients

I don't wanna dwell on this too much but it is not made up of the most sensitive skin friendly ingredients. Even though sensitive skin is usually none of my concern, I feel it is good to highlight this in the review (especially when it smells so weird). You can google for more info if you're interested.

Removal

You have to remove with makeup cleanser and this sunscreen is really hard to remove. You can literally feel it on your skin if you don't remove thoroughly. This is also one of the things I dread whenever I use this sunscreen.

Aftermath

I don't feel much if I remove well. And I always make sure I remove every single bit of it at the end of the day.

The Verdict

I enjoy this sunscreen a lot, to be honest more than what I expected. My experience with ZA skincare line was quite bad so I wasn't really keen to test this out. I cannot emphasize how much I love the powder matt finish the sunscreen provides. The velvet and smooth finish is such a gem in the hot and sweaty Summer. It feels like I've some powder/finishing powder on when in fact I've none. However, the smell and the hassle to removal make this product a little less than ideal for me.

I would say this product is more suitable for those with oily/combination skin.It will probably be too drying for people with dry skin. Remember to moisturise well before applying and after removal.

Nonetheless, I really like how it looks on my skin so I guess you can consider it to be one of my favourites.

May or may not repurchase

PS the smell and ingredients are making me less keen on repurchasing.
